Female sexual abusers – facts and fiction
-
Internet offenders – how the internet is used as part of sexually abusive behaviour
-
Children who display worrying sexual behaviour
-
Developing a comprehensive framework to prevent child sexual abuse
Delegates complete each workshop. They hear from specialist speakers who work in the field, learn from the experience of others and share their own experiences.
Our training
Stop it Now! England plans to organise and deliver 30 of these local, low-cost, multi-agency training days during 2011-2013, as part of the Department for Education’s drive to improve frontline practice with regard to safeguarding.
These events can accommodate up to 110 multi-agency representatives and typically cost around £60 per head, depending on location and venue costs.
We can cover up to four specialist topics during the day, which increase the delegate’s understanding of child sexual abuse and its prevention. Training content can be tailored to suit the needs of the particular audience and is delivered by experienced LFF practitioners.
In the past we have partnered with various organisations and statutory bodies to deliver these events, including Police, LSCBs and Early Years Services. If you would like to see an event in your area, whether or not you would like to help organise or host it, we would like to hear from you.
Quotes from those who have attended a day...
”Informative and relevant to my role”
“Will use new knowledge in future work”
“Should be compulsory for all who work with children”
“Valuable and educational, well presented”
“An eye opener to the facts and myths of sexual abuse”
Sector Specific Briefings
Stop! England delivers briefing sessions to specific groups of frontline practitioners (e.g. GPs, Social Workers, Health Visitors), to help them incorporate child sexual abuse prevention initiatives into their day-to-day working practices.
These briefing sessions can be delivered locally in the workplace or at more central regional venues where larger numbers can be accommodated.
