The National Steering Group

Stop it Now! Scotland is supported by a Steering Group which aims to offer advice, guidance, support and influence the development of the Stop it Now! programme within and across Scotland.

Terms of Reference

The National Steering Group will:

  • provide support and advice for the development of Stop it Now! across Scotland
  • contribute to the development of a Strategic Plan for the Stop it Now! programme in Scotland.
  • monitor the strategic development of the programme and its effectiveness
  • enable the programme’s drive for excellence and best outcomes to be enhanced by sharing of expertise and knowledge of the national context
  • act as a conduit of communication and liaison within individual members’ own organisations and others in which they may have influence
  • identify and link issues from policy, practice and research within their specific area of expertise in order to inform and drive Stop it Now! Scotland’s influencing agenda throughout Scotland

Membership

Membership of the group will reflect the ethos of partnership which underpins the Stop it Now! Scotland programme. The group will have a membership which includes government and statutory agencies, leading children’s charities, criminal justice organisations and other relevant voluntary organisations.

The Chair will be responsible for ensuring that business is carried out in a transparent manner and that the aims of Stop it Now! Scotland are being met.
