REDUCING ONLINE SEXUAL ABUSE (ROSA) PROJECT
The Reducing Online Sexual Abuse (ROSA) Project is a service working with children and young people in Glasgow aged between 8 and 18. ROSA provides early interventions with individuals who have got into trouble with online sexual behaviour.
This may include risk-taking behaviour by accessing adult pornography, sending or receiving sexual images, or viewing indecent images of children. It could also involve the use of coercion online for sexual purposes. We also offer advice and information in relation to internet safety, online sexual harassment and child sexual exploitation via the internet or social media.
Our job is to identify problems as early as possible to ensure that situations don't get any worse. We do this by helping children and young people make safer and more informed choices in the future.

Who can contact us?
Referrals can be made by schools, education, police, health or any other agencies. We can also speak to parents and carers if they are concerned in relation to what a young person has been viewing and accessing; and we can take referrals from young people directly if they feel they are worried or affected by their online behaviour.
What do we offer?
The ROSA Project will initially offer telephone advice and guidance. We can also offer a six week course of individual or family sessions. These can be at school or at our Glasgow city centre office.
These sessions can ensure the young person and family have:
- Practical advice and strategies to prevent a reoccurence or escalation in the concerning sexual behaviour.
- Sound information about the law in this context, especially as it applies to young people
- Clear advice and information about healthy sexual and social development in childhood and adolescence
- More open and trusting communication between the young people and their parents or carers
We are able to take anonymous feedback or requests for help through our anonymous email system at Stop It Now! If you have anything you would like to tell us in confidence, or anything you wish to ask please contact us here. Please start your query "Dear ROSA" to allow us to identify queries and comments that are meant specifically for the ROSA project and allow your query to be answered in the most appropriate way.
