Police Scotland campaign – Stop It Now! Scotland
Stop It Now! Scotland is the strategic partner for Police Scotland’s national campaign targeting those people who groom of children online. The campaign aims to tackle the online sexual abuse of children whether that is having sexualised conversations, encouraging children to send sexualised photos of themselves, or encouraging them to meet for sex.
What help can Stop It Now! Scotland offer?
Our UK helpline (0808 1000 900) offers a free confidential and anonymous service where you can talk to someone about your thoughts and behaviours. There is no judgment – we speak to thousands of people every year and help them take action to protect children and young people. We work with people who have committed offences against children or are having thoughts about doing so. Whether this is talking to children and young people in a sexual way online, trying to get them to send sexualised pictures of themselves or encouraging them to meet in person for sex – we can help.
There is also online help available, Stop It Now! Get Help section offers a wide range of information and advice, as well as online self-help tools and resources. These will help you to understand your behaviour, what triggers it and what you can do to stop. There will be specific modules around grooming available from late March 2019.
We also run group work sessions from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Call us on 0131 5563535 to find out more about our group work.

Who are Stop It Now! Scotland?
We are a child protection charity that believes that the key to preventing sexual abuse is awareness among parents and community members. We work to build public confidence in recognising and responding to concerns about the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
We also provide support services to individuals and their families with problematic sexual thoughts and those who may be at risk of sexual offending. This includes those who are under investigation for internet offences. We believe that this is a critical part of preventing child sexual abuse. We also support friends and family members of individuals who are at risk of sexual offending.
