Scotland deterrence campaign

We run deterrence campaigns in Scotland to prevent people from committing online child sexual abuse.

#GetHelpOrGetCaught campaign 2021

Lucy Faithfull Foundation Scotland was a partner for Police Scotland’s national campaign, #GetHelpOrGetCaught.

The campaign aimed to deter online grooming. For instance, having sexualised conversations, encouraging children to send sexualised photos of themselves, or encouraging them to meet for sexual reasons.

The campaign won the Scottish Charity Awards ‘Campaign of the Year’ award in 2021. Over 79,000 people visited our website and 185 people accessed our specialist self-help resources designed for people who are worried about their online behaviour towards children and young people.

The campaign was also a Best Cyber Educations Programme finalist at the Scottish Cyber Awards in 2021.
